LISA DALLINGER

Voice and dialect coach

Hi there, I’m Lisa.

I am a voice, dialect and speech teacher and coach as well as an actor and theatre-maker.

After completing professional actor training at the Ballarat Arts Academy and a Masters of Teaching with the University of Melbourne, I went on to complete a Post-Graduate Diploma in Voice Studies from the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA). I have also since become a certified teacher in Vocal Combat Technique (VCT) - a proven voice method for learning to go to vocal extremes in a healthy and sustainable manner.

I love helping others to feel more empowered through body, breath and voice work. I regularly work with actors and performers, but often also work with a range of other professional voice users and people who simply wish to improve their ability to communicate effectively and confidently.

My approach to voice is largely grounded in the teachings of F.M Alexander, Kristen Linklater, Patsy Rodenburg, Barbara Houseman, and Cicely Berry amongst others. And my accent and dialect teaching is heavily influenced by my training in Knight-Thompson Speechwork and by the work of Sharpe and Rowles.

I am a member of the international Voice and Speech Teachers' Association (VASTA), the Australian Voice Association (AVA) as well as the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance (MEAA). I also hold registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and am a registered Civil Celebrant.

When I am not teaching/ coaching or helping people to get married, I am a mum of two and doing my best to juggle all of the hats I wear!

I hope to meet you soon and work with you on your voice.
